The celebration of St Dujam as Split’s patron saint is the most authentic cultural event of the year. The celebration begins two weeks before the day of St. Dujam, and continues to 10th of May – day of the Marjan hill. Main events start with the procession which starts from the cathedral to the Riva. Procession is led by a priest, after the morning mass at the cathedral.
The celebration continues on the waterfront, with plenty of food, drink, and festive activities. Not long after the procession is over, festivities start with the traditional Tombola – a game of chance. Throughout the day, there are concerts, performances and sporting events.
In the evening, concerts in the city center heat up, and the waterfront becomes a dance floor. Near the end of the events, the fireworks light up, but the party goes on. Remember to find apartments for you and your special someone on time!
